I am on my way to getting my project off the ground. I've spoken to someone at starbucks in DC who thankfully understood exactly what i was on about and even expressed my project as "The Journey of the seat" and was good enough to let me see their seating plan. Unfortunately there was only one copy for their staff office, so I took a couple of photos and will "overpaint" to make a diagram to use on my questionnaires for the first stage of the project plan.

I've started to plan out my questionnaire leaflets, but I'm not sure whether double sided printing is available. If not, this is not essential. The questions I have decided on so far are Age, Sex, Occupation and a diagrammatically themed "place your mark here" for customers to place an X where their favourite seat / table is.

Next I must design a sticker, or flyer with a short tag line e.g "someone's sitting there mate" or "who's seat are you in?" and a web address.
I'm unsure whether to create a forum or a blog to display the user's messages. I'm also going to have a look at WAP browsers, because although the starbucks is in a wi-fi hot zone only a small number of customers ever have their laptop or fully internet capable device with them.
